FACTOIDS
• The Economic Policy Institute reports the poorest 20% of Americans saw their income drop 2.5%, while the richest 20% saw their incomes rise 9% last year

• Paper or plastic? Neither. Plastic is a petroleum product - not good. New paper bags are stronger, so more trees are used. The only eco-option is BYOB - Bring Your Own Bag.

FRUGAL TIPS

• Add garlic early in your preparation if you want a light taste of garlic and at the end if your want a stronger taste.

• To keep squirrels from eating your plants, sprinkle cayenne pepper around them. The pepper doesn't hurt the plant, but squirrels hate it.
