A Brattleboro father calls his son in Nashville a couple of days before Thanksgiving. He tells him, "I hate to ruin your day, but your mother and I are divorcing. After 45 years we've grown apart and want to start new."

'What?! I thought you loved each other?" the son screams.

"It's all been a lie and it's gotten worse," the father says "'We're sick of each other, and I'm sick of talking. Call your sister in Seattle and tell her."

Frantic, he calls his sister. "Like heck they're getting divorced," she shouts, 'I'll take care of this."

Upset, she calls and implores her father, "DON'T get divorced. I'll come and we'll talk. We'll both come! We'll both be there!. Don't do a thing until we get there, OK?" and hangs up.

The man hangs up his phone, smiles and turns to his wife an says, "Okay, they're coming for
Thanksgiving and paying their own way."
