A REALLY OLD JOKE
A British publisher has translated PHILOGELOS, THE LAUGH ADDICT.
It's a 1600 year old joke book from Greece. So what were the men and women of ancient Greece laughing at in the year 400 AD? Here is a sample.
A Thracian man complains to a slave dealer that the slave he just brought is dead.
Aghast the dealer exclaims, "By the gods, when he was with me, he never did any such thing!"
The source we found compared this joke to Monty Python's Dead Parrot sketch, but for us, I guess you had to be there. Maybe if he were a lumberjack.....
