The Wedding Industrial Complex is out to get as much money to of prospective newlyweds as possible. It's an enormous industry attempting to get you to buy into the 'princess' wedding and the 'perfect' day. They promote ideas like 3 months wages is what you should spend on an engagement ring. The recession has changed a lot of that. In 2009 wedding budget will shrink another 12% over last years 10% reduction. Sanity is returning.

The following articles, podcasts and links are all ways for to save money on weddings and still keep the most important part - two people committing to each other while friends and relatives celebrate them.

The Frugal Yankee asks, if you have some ideas, please share them. Thank you.
